Gladys Geneva (Haynes) Davis

  Gladys Geneva (Haynes) Davis, 92, went to be with the Lord at 2:22 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness.

     She was born March 23, 1933, in Vinton County, to the late Phillip and Mary (Walsh) Haynes.  On September 16, 1950, she married Clyde D. “Don” Davis who passed August 9, 2013. 

     Surviving are daughters, Nancy (Mike) Dean, Sue (Bill) Miller and Juanita Daivs; her only granddaughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Dean; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her in-laws; seven sisters; and four brothers. 

     Gladys graduated from Southeastern High School in 1950.  She worked at Londonderry Elementary as a Cook.  Gladys then worked for General Electric for 24 plus years.  She loved cooking, baking and gardening.  Gladys also loved flowers and traveling. 

      Gladys attended Goshen Run Church of God all her life until her health failed.  She will be missed by all who knew her. 

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jeremy Hatfield officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
