H. Jane Story Bost

     H. Jane Story Bost, 78, of Chillicothe, died 10:22 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Grant Medical Center, Columbus following a brief illness.

     She was born July 19, 1942, in Chillicothe, to the late Francis and Alice Hertenstein Story.  On October 1, 1980, she married Sherman Richard “Dick” Bost who survives.

     Also surviving daughters, Mary (Mark) McCombs, of Upper Arlington and Sarah (Chris) Pummel, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, James and Andrew McCombs and Brooke and Holly Pummel; a great granddaughter, Isabella DeMint; a sister, Jackie Hummel, of Columbia, MO; nieces, Sara Hummel, Anne Brown and Jenny Liedel; and longtime friends, Jean Barker, Evelyn Lovensheimer, Bette Snyder, Diane Saxton and Doree Fligor. 

     Jane was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  She was a former employee of the Pump House Center for the Arts and had also worked for the Chillicothe Ross County Chamber of Commerce.  At one time, Jane was a member of the Chillicothe Art League and was a self-taught artist.  She enjoyed many mediums of art and was best known for her collage work.  Jane always enjoyed a margarita with family and friends.

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Fr. Paul E. Daggett officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday.
