James E. Woods Obituary

James E. “Coach” Woods, 80, of Chillicothe, former local teacher and coach, passed 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Jim was born October 19, 1941, in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Gordon and Frances McGraw Woods. On May 8, 1971, he married the former Lynn Miller who survives.

Also surviving are a brother, David (Pam) Woods, of Chillicothe; a nephew, Jason Woods, of Chillicothe; and niece, Carrie (Joel) Kunkle, of Newcomerstown. He was predeceased by a son, James A. Woods.

Jim served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.
