James M. McGlone

     James M. McGlone, 80, of Chillicothe, passed at 12:42 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in Hearth and Home Retirement Home, Urbana following an extended illness.

     He was born February 8, 1942, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Virgil and Ruby McGlone.  On July 3, 1966, he married the former Ruth Myers who survives.

     Also surviving are a daughter, Diana (Joseph) Ferguson, of Cable, Ohio; a son, Michael (Miriam Gamboa Velasquez), of Lima, Peru; grandchildren, Alyssa Ferguson, Alea Ferguson, Joseph Ferguson, Andrew McGlone and Alessandra Gamboa Velasquez; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Darlene Strawser and Francis McGlone.

     James retired from the Mead Paper Company where he had worked for many years.  He had served in the Army National Guard, owned and operated a small farm in Huntington Township, and was an avid gardener.

     A graveside memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Twin Township Cemetery with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
