Janice E. Detty

     Janice E. Detty, 84, of Chillicothe, passed 9:15 am Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her home.

     She was born October 2, 1939 in Chillicothe to the late Loyle G. and Ruth C. Clingman Huling.  On January 18, 1974 she married Clifford E. Detty who survives.

     In addition to her husband she is survived by children, Sue Colley, Kim (Danny) Oates and Rodney (Melinda) Detty, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Matt (Jordan) Oates, Danielle (Elliott) Oates-Barrow, Tamara Detty, Jim (Katlin) Detty, Raymond Detty, Christopher, Detty, Coalton Detty, Nick Colley, David Dearth, Lara Wheeler, Aiden Detty and Autumn Detty; numerous great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by sons, Gary and James Detty; grandson, Jeremy Clark; brother, Harold Huling; sister, Marian Knox.

     Janice was a school crossing guard for the Chillicothe Schools and attended Jefferson Avenue CCCU.

     In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

     Funeral services will be held 1 pm Monday, September 30, 2024  at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Greg Trent officiating.  Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 am – 1 pm on the day of the service.
