Jayne Lee (Stockman) Stanley

Jayne Lee (Stockman) Stanley, passed peacefully from this life on July 14, 2025 at Grant Medical Center. 

She was born January 10, 1950 to the late Ralph and June (DeLong) Stockman. 

Jayne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Patrick L. Stanley.  She is also survived and loved by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jo Ellen Seitz; twin granddaughters, Morgan Jo and Olivia Jayne Seitz; a brother-in-law, Ron Bethel; a special niece, Jennifer Matheney; a great niece, Carrie Conley; a great nephew, Christopher Sykes; two great great nieces, Brayley and Gracie; cousins, Roni Lee Altier, John DeLong, Kenny DeLong, Jim DeLong and Jeff DeLong; and her longtime friends, Chris Cox and Sharon Elam. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Bethel; a stepson, Brent Stanley; and her much loved canine companions, Molly and Murphy. 

Jayne graduated from Chillicothe High School, Class of 1968.  She retired from Big Bear / Community Market after 48 years of employment. 

In her lifetime, Jayne enjoyed attending all of her son’s sporting events and then any of her granddaughters activities as well.  She always enjoyed being with family and friends.  Jayne attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and Hallsville United Methodist Church under the direction of Rev. David Titler. 

She also loved going out to eat, especially at Giovanni’s, watching TV, reading and shopping with QVC and HSN.  Jayne always cheered for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds.  The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Jayne’s neighbors, Cam and Cheri Shipley. 

She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors. 

Jayne loved animals from an early age, especially her dogs and that’s why we ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Ross County Humane Society 2308-A Lick Run Road Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. 

A committal service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 in Grandview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME  from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the day of the service.
