Jerry Burgess

Jerry Burgess, 68, of Wellston, passed at 9:02 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness. 

     He was born June 13, 1956, in Charleston, WV, to the late Joe L. Sr. and Beulah Pettry Burgess.

     Surviving are children, Sabrina (Keith) Boggess, Jerry Lee (Tina) Burgess, Jr. and Brandon Burgess;14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a niece and lots of aunts and uncles.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Joe Burgess, Jr. and sister, Beverly Scarbro.

     Jerry retired from Georgia Pacific in Circleville where he had worked for many years.  He was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.  Jerry was willing to take in anyone who needed a place to stay, besides his own children, many others called him “Dad.” 

     A celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
