John Cochenour

John Cochenour, 65, of Chillicothe passed 9:29 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

   He was born July 14, 1959 in Chillicothe to the late John H. and Juanita J. (Fyffe) Cochenour.

   Surviving are his wife Linda Cox Cochenour; step-sons, Chris Cox, of Chillicothe, Kevin Cox, of Chillicothe, Tim (Kerrie) Cox , of McArthur; 3 granddaughters; a grandson; sisters, Debbie (Howard) Kellough, of Chillicothe, Kathy (Alvin) Ayers, Richmond Dale, Vickie (Sam) Williams, of Chillicothe, Linda Soummers, of Chillicothe; a brother, Richard Cochenour, of Ft. Myers, FL; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and his dog Coco. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Juanita and James “Bud” Soummers; father, John Cochenour; a brother, Donnie Cochenour; nephews, Michael Soummers, Alex Massie, J.R. Cochenour, Terry Soummers; and a niece, Lisa Frost.

   Johnny was a bus driver for the Ross County Head Start. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time on social media. Johnny will be remembered for his heart of gold and willingness to do anything for anyone.

   A Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pamela Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
