John Floyd Huber, 83, passed away December 24, 2024 at the Westmoreland Care Group. John was born October 1, 1941 in Chillicothe, Ohio, to William J. and Judith A. Huber.
He is survived by six siblings: Miriam Huber, Chillicothe, Ohio; Linda Williams, Pataskala, Ohio; Judy and husband, Jeff Sells, Chillicothe, Ohio; Phyllis and husband, Jerry Park, Chillicothe, Ohio; William J. Huber, Jr. and wife, Georgeann Neuzil, Columbus, Ohio; and Charles Huber and wife, Wendy, Spokane, Washington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
John was a graduate of Chillicothe High School majoring in Science and Industrial Arts. He spent most of his adult life in Arizona where he received an associate’s degree in electronics at ITT Technical Institute in Phoenix. He also received a degree in Automobile and Deisel Mechanics from Bailey Technical School in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was employed at various bowling alleys throughout Phoenix as a certified maintenance and pin setting technician. He was also a technician for amusement parks in Tempe and Legend City, Arizona.
John’s interests and hobbies included photography and video recording from which his family benefited. His camera collection was quite extensive. He experimented with making many types of motorized bicycles including design and components.
John was a member of the ROMEO Club – retired old men eating out – that met monthly for lunch. The community at the Fellowship Towers Senior Living Facility enjoyed having him as their Bingo caller.
John was predeceased by his parents; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Agnes Schumaker and Alline Schumaker; paternal grandparents, John J. and Elizabeth Huber; brothers-in-law, Thomas Alexander and Donald Williams; infant grandnephew, Jeremy Eblin.
There will be a memorial celebration of John’s life at Orchard Hill United Church of Christ, 105 Courtland Dr., Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2 p.m.
