John L McCoy

     John McCoy, 79, of Hillsboro, passed at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Hopewell Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center following a long-term heart condition.

     He was born September 7, 1946, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Leonard C. and Irene C. Cottrill McCoy.  On April 24, 1965, he married the former Sherry L. Skyles who survives. 

     Also surviving are a daughter, Shelly Beam, of Lexington, TN; a son, Jason McCoy, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Shaylynn Hope (Josh) Nevil, of Hillsboro and John McCoy, of Hillsboro; great grandchildren, Luke, Emma, and Elijah; sisters, Jeanette (Luke) McCoy, of Chillicothe and Jackie Kuk, of Washington Court House; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Tyler McCoy.

John retired from Banta Publications Greenfield Inc.

John was an avid horse lover, he also loved his family and friends very much.
