John R. Polen

     John R. Polen, 79, of Chillicothe, died 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his residence unexpectedly.

     He was born August 28, 1942, in Ross County, to the late Richard D. and Margaret Proehl Polen. 

     Surviving are his daughter, Serena S. (John Miller) Polen; a granddaughter, Savannah Knece; a great grandson, Braiden Grover-Pollard; a stepdaughter, Sandra Horsley; sisters, Christie (David) Bethel, Susan (Dennis) Spetnagel and Jill Adams; a brother, Mark Polen, all of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers, Richard “Dick” Jr., Lance, Keith, Jack Polen and Kevin Polen; and a sister, Tamara Polen.

     John was a painter for the Painters Union Local 1275.  He was a member of VFW, AMVETS, American Legion, Elks and Moose Lodge 1626. 

     In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
