Karen Sue Day, 65, of Chillicothe, died 10:55 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the Kobacker House, Columbus following an extended illness.
She was born December 1, 1955 in Scioto County to Lester and June D. (McDaniel) Marcum. On September 12, 1981, she married Gene Day who died February 7, 2017.
Surviving is her mother, June D. Marcum, of Lucasville; sons, Jason Day and Matt (Molly) Day, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Nora and Elliott Day; fiancé, Bob Watkins, of Chillicothe; a sister, Pam (Danny) McCoy, of Lucasville; brothers, Dean (Robin) Marcum, of Lucasville, and Darrell (Lisa) Marcum, of Clearwater, FL. She was predeceased by her father, Lester Marcum.
Karen worked as the superintendent secretary for Unioto Schools, but prior to this position, Karen retired from Kroger. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church and OES Chapter 419.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday October, 21, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mike Rhoads officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the WARE FUENRAL HOME.
