In Loving Memory of Kenneth Daniel Christie
Kenneth Daniel Christie, age 66, beloved son of Dan and Tessie, and brother of Gordon, passed from this life into paradise on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Chillicothe Post Acute, at 8:12 a.m.
Ken was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Open Door Church, where he found deep fellowship and unwavering support during his courageous battle with cancer and the complications following his stroke. He gave his heart and hands to ministries including the soup kitchen, food pantry, bus ministry, and the Marketplace where he served as a shepherd before his health declined. Though Ken had no children or grandchildren of his own, he was deeply loved by his Ohio family and was a treasured friend to many. His presence was especially meaningful to the younger generation—his hilarious stories and gentle spirit made him unforgettable. Ken was also a kind and dependable neighbor, always treating others as he wished to be treated. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the neighbors who stepped in and showed compassion during these difficult days. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Ken especially loved watching Valentino Rossi compete in MotoGP. His beloved Ducati remains a symbol of those thrilling, joy-filled days. He also had a passion for music, framing the ticket stubs from the hundreds of concerts he attended. Ken adored animals—especially dogs—and shared a unique bond with Grayson, the one cat who stole his heart. Though Grayson never lived with Ken, they shared countless moments together outside his door. Ken also mourned the loss of past companions Crystal, Katie, and Comet. His beloved Miss Sandy, the most recent addition to his furry family, now lives happily with Drew. She was his comfort and his companion immediately following his stroke. Ken worked proudly as a semi-truck driver and auto mechanic, but it was his gift for giving and unshakable loyalty that defined him. He deeply loved his family and held his oncology team at The James, especially Dr. Clinton, as his team. To those who never met the tender-hearted man behind the bold New York/New Jersey exterior—you missed the honor of knowing a truly rough-around-the-edges gem. He was one-of-a-kind. In honor of Ken’s lifelong love for animals, the family asks that donations be made to the local Humane Society in his memory.
Kenneth is survived by his family in Ohio that supported and loved him they are his Aunt Phyl (Phyllis Aquino), cousins Larry and Sara Duvall, Don and Jennifer Aquino, Drew and Tammy Aquino and Carol Aquino. Those who will also miss his presence on this earth are his nieces and nephews and their children, plus his cousins across the United States. Special friends and their families- Bob Green, Ryan Camponeschi, Marc Leeth, Dennis Jackson, Denny and Louise Dailey, Andy Jacobson, and Bev and the Bob Evans Group He was predeceased in Ohio by his nephew LCP Aaron Reed and his Uncle Ralph Aquino, and other loved ones in New Jersey.
