Kory A. Yates, 37, of Chillicothe, passed at his residence unexpectedly.
He was born November 2, 1985, in Chillicothe, to Howard Yates and Tammy Thompson Yates.
Surviving are his son, Blain Yates, of Kingston; mom and dad, Tammy and Bill Yates, of Kingston; dad and mom, Howard and Beth Yates, of Chillicothe; grandfathers, Gary Thompson, of Circleville and Howard “Buck” Yates, of Kingston; a grandmother, Virginia Hartman, of Chillicothe; an aunt, Jan (Dick) Green, of Richmond Dale; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, including, Baylee Sherrick and Alie Sherrick; many cousins including a special cousin, Tara (Bo) Eichenlaub, of Otway; best friends, Curtis Seymour and Brian Bainer; and special family friends who have surrounded Blain with unconditional love and support, Jackie and Bob Lacy, Steve and Kerry Wilkinson, and Joe and Rita Johnson, all of Kingston. He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Sandy Thompson and Mary Yates; grandfather, Everett Hartman; and aunts, Denise McAllister and Darlene Cash.
Kory was a United States Army Veteran. He was a former employee at Kenworth Truck Company. Kory was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jeremy Hatfield officiating. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday. A private burial will be held, at the convenience of the family, in Little Mound Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
