LaVerne Hollis

     LaVerne B. Hollis 92, of Chillicothe, passed 12:25 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at  Adena Regional Medical Center.

     She was born May 28, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Edward and Harriet Heim Hawkins.  On March 15, 1952 she married James Hollis, Jr. who preceded her February 14, 1991.

     Surviving are sons, James E. (Emlinda) Hollis and Loren L. (Terry) Hollis, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Amy Lynn (Halo) Dobbins, Brandi Jo Hollis, Christopher and Jason Hollis; 6 great grandchildren, sister, Donna Babb, of Denver, CO; brother, Edward (Sue) Hawkins, of Cape Coral, FL; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Joyce Hayburn, Betty Hawkins and Maureen Ruff; brothers, Robert, Randall, Richard and James Hawkins.

     LaVerne retired from Sears and Roebuck where she worked in the Catalog Department.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Father Stanislaus John officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
