Larry N. Schaffer

     Larry N. Schaffer, 83, of Chillicothe, died 5:24 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.

     He was born August 20, 1938, in Chillicothe, to the late Latta C. and Marie Miller Schaffer.  On October 14, 1961, he married the former Rose C. “Dee” Tolliver, who survives.

     Surviving are brother, Gary (Jennifer) Schaffer of Frankfort; fur babies Bella Rose and Striesand; several nieces and nephews; including special nieces, Teresa Baker, Middy McClure, Brittany Lougheed, Tanya Williams and Tammy Daniels; special nephew, Toby Williams; numerous great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Sandy Chandler; Verna (Floyd) Tackett both of Chillicothe; many special friends; including Harry Rider of Waverly.  He was predeceased by sisters Rose Marie Hoeg and Joyce Schaffer.

     Larry was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.   He retired from Chilpaco after 41 years and was Millwright member of the UPIU Local 988, as well as being a Life-time member of the AMVETS Post #4.  Larry loved to garden.  He was a good cook and baker.  He was a great person who loved his entire family. Larry held an annual wiener roast and chili cook off. He was always the winner of the chili cook off. He also always won the sweet potato contest at the Wilson Run C.C.C.U.

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with John Karlson officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Sunday.
