Leslie McGuire Obituary

   Leslie R. McGuire, 74 of Chillicothe, Ohio passed from this life at 2:15 a.m., April 26, 2022 at home following an extended illness.

     He was born on April 12, 1948 in Grayson, Kentucky to Leslie and Mary Elizabeth (Hicks) McGuire.  On March 31, 1979, he married the former Cathy Jo Hollis, who survives.

     Also surviving are his granddaughter, Amber (whom he raised and loved dearly) and her husband, Justin Rhoades and their children, AnthonyRay and Jaxon (whom he loved with all of his heart); his daughter, Diane McGuire and son, Jeremiah McGuire; sister, Kaye Owens of Florida; niece, Lisa Owens-Heckler and her husband Michael of Florida; sister-in-law, Rebecca Cochran and his beloved pets, Grace, Andy, Bailey and Tyler.

     He was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter, Leslie Denise; brothers-in-law, Kenneth E. Cochran and Jimmie Owens and nephew, Brandon Owens.

     Leslie was a 1966 graduate of McKell High School, South Shore, Kentucky and an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army.  He was employed as a Nursing Assistant at the VA Medical Center and retired in 1998 after 24 years of service.  He was a former EMT and Firefighter with Union Township, Springfield Township and Scioto Township.

     The family would like to thank Dr. Seidensticker, Adena Hospice Nurses and Aides, Dr. Jeffrey Rose and the Infusion Nurses for their compassionate care during his illness.  There will be no calling hours.  Following cremation, private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Arrangement are under the direction of WARE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations be asked to be made to the Adena Cancer Center, 4435 St. Rt. 159, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
