Lori Botchie Obituary

Lori Ann Botchie (Landrum), age 61, passed from this life to her Heavenly reward on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.  Lori was born March 7th, 1964, in Chillicothe, the second and youngest daughter of William and Betty Landrum.  Lori was a 1982 graduate of Chillicothe High School, where she enjoyed participating in the marching band.  She was also a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in her teenage years.   She went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Ohio University.  Lori worked at the Thomson/RCA facility in Circleville for nearly 15 years until its closure in 2004, serving as a supervisor in the panel forming operation for many years.  She also served as a case worker at the Floyd Simantel Clinic in Chillicothe. In 2011, she opened Sweet William Blossom Boutique in downtown Chillicothe, which she co-owned with her niece Anni.  Lori lived her dream building their business into what it has become.

Lori valued creativity and loved to paint as a younger girl.  Among her many hobbies were baking, cross stitching, and playing Sudoku, and she loved music of all kinds.  She was never happier than when she was cooking for family gatherings or making sweet treats and chatting with the girls at the flower shop.  Her great niece and nephews, who knew her affectionately as “Lolo”, were among the true joys in her life, and she never missed an opportunity to spoil or dote on each of them.  She enjoyed many trips with her family to Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. through the years.  Her strongest bond of all was with her daughter Catlin, from whom she was nearly inseparable, and who she loved fiercely.  She was known for her sass and sarcasm, traits she hilariously maintained into the last days of her life at the great amusement of her loved ones.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a woman of great faith.  She would drop everything at a moment’s notice to help anyone in any way she could, friend, family, or stranger.  Those dear to her would often receive unexpected gifts simply because she was thinking of them. Her devotion to her family, unfailing selflessness, and generous spirit will be missed beyond measure.

In addition to her mother, Lori is survived by her daughter and best friend Catlin Botchie, sister Cathy (Rob) Frizzell, nephew Will Frizzell, nieces Abby (Derek) Sams and Anni (Logan) McDonald, great nephews and niece Ace and Jude Sams, & Theo, Maverick, and Penelope McDonald.  She was preceded in death by her beloved dad Bill Landrum, dear friend Virginia “Little” Colley, grandparents William and Collace Landrum, and Walter and Loma Barr, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She also shared a long and special bond with her friend Tom Dailey.

Funeral services will take place 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at the WARE FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Chris Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4th.
