Louise Baldwin Obituary

Louise Baldwin, 76, of Chillicothe, Ohio was born to René and Gabrielle (Goulet) Belleau on June 12, 1948 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.  Inspired by her father, an upholsterer by trade, she learned to sew at a young age.   Indeed, she was so good at her craft that her Barbie dolls donned only the highest perfectly crafted fashion made from scraps of her father’s upholstery fabrics.  Preferring the refuge offered by creative arts, she became proficient in needlepoint, knitting, crochet, quilting, pencil, oil and water painting, crafts, and cooking.  Additionally, in her free time, Louise became the self-appointed manager of her three brothers, Serge, Réal, and Sylvain.

Louise married Lawrence and had one daughter, Nathalie.  Thanks to her many talents, her daughter had the largest Barbie house constructed with cardboard boxes and Contact Paper for her inherited fashionable barbies to live in, the most fashion-forward wardrobe in all of kindergarten, and the most amazing Absolut Vodka replica dress as a teenager.  A dedicated mother, she spent hours patiently attempting to help Nathalie learn the French language so that she might be better able to communicate with her family up north, helping perfect her artistic skills, and always being present at school functions. Restaurant worthy meals were prepared daily.

Apparently equipped with unlimited time and energy and a persistent desire to please, Louise donated what time she had left to help others.  She shared her passion by teaching others to knit, sew, and quilt. She volunteered her time by knitting chemo caps and newborn baby hats, sewing costumes, and singing both solo and in the choir at her local churches including Little Flower, St. Ignatius of Loyola, and St. James in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Surviving are a daughter, Nathalie (Andrew Waltz) Baldwin and husband Lawrence Baldwin of Chillicothe, Ohio; brothers, Serge (Lise), Sylvain (Kim) and Réal Belleau; and nephews, Pierre-Luc and Philippe Belleau, all of Montréal.

Louise touched the lives of so many and will be missed immensely.
