Lowell Gordon Henness, 89, of Chillicothe, went to Heaven on April 2, 2022. He was a loving husband and father and loved by all that knew him.
He was born June 9th, 1932, the son of the late Raymond and Effie Byers Henness. On December 30, 1967, he married the former Mary Alice Bowman, who survives. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage together.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Hudnell and Jo Ellen (Richard) Tolle, both of Leesburg; sons, Jeffrey (Traci) Henness and Jerry (Lisa) Henness, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Riley, Kelli Henness Nobles, Jason (Brenda) Hudnell, Chrystal Hudnell, Kelsey Henkle, Brandon Henkle, Derek (Haley) Henkle, Whitney (Trey) Rittenhouse, Olivia (Jake) Rose, Hayden Henness, Easton Henness; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Lowell K. Henness; a stepson, Mark A. Henkle; granddaughters, Raygan B. Henness and Monica Jo Riley; a grandson, Jerry Hudnell; sisters, Millie (Gene) Emrich, Maxine (Donald) Hill and Aileen (Herbert) Blazer; and brothers, Everett (Margaret) Henness, Roy (Bert) Henness, Kenneth (Evie) Henness and Orland Henness.
Gordon was a home builder and owned and operated Henness Construction of Chillicothe. He also retired from General Electric in Circleville in 1993 after 33 years of employment. He was a wonderful provider and loved to work. Since his retirement he loved making crafts for friends and family.
Gordon loved the Lord and was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union of Chillicothe for over 40 years. He will be fondly remembered by his family as being a good Christian man.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Jeremy Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
