Mabel A. Barnhart, 86, of Chillicothe, died 7:45 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born August 4, 1935, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard E. Sr. and Mary L. Krout Barnhart.
She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard E. Jr. and Betty Barnhart, Herbert “Jim” and Dorothy Barnhart and Robert H. and Virginia Barnhart and a niece, Linda Moore. Surviving are a sister, Gwen L. Schacherer, of Dayton; and nieces and nephews, Christina Anderson, of Chillicothe, Marsha Clayton, of Huntington Beach, CA, Brenda Starr, of Chillicothe, OH, Nancy Hart, of Germantown, OH, Barbara Sloop, of Germantown, OH, Paula Willey, of Centerville, OH, Kimberly Christian, of Collierville, TN, Stephanie Chippendale, of Ft. Worth, TX, Scott Schacherer, of Fairhope, AL, Robert Barnhart, of Chillicothe, OH, and Roger Barnhart, of Circleville, OH.
Mabel graduated from Centrailia High School in 1953. She had worked at the former Del-Ar Auto Theater in Chillicothe, Ohio, Charles J. Hunn’s Meats and retired from Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
