Marcella Elaine Ward

     Marcella Elaine Ward, 86, of Chillicothe, passed at 3:20 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness.

     She was born February 15, 1939, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Harry and Alma Bosworth Martin.  On June 20, 1960, she married Gary Lee Ward who passed June 14, 2008.

     Surviving are a daughter, Layna (Homer) Clemmons, of Chillicothe; a son, Greg (Lori) Ward, of Columbus; granddaughters, McKenzie (John Grey) Clemmons and Cassandra Clemmons; and a brother, Ron Martin.  She was predeceased by her faithful companions, her dogs, Chrissy and Missy.

     Marcella had worked at Lincoln Plastics in Circleville and was a Teacher’s Aide at Higby Elementary School.  She was an avid flower gardener and was a member of the Scioto Valley Bird Club.  The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of NCR Hospice and Home Health Aides and Shelly Poppins for the loving care given to Marcella and for the compassion shown to our family during this time.     

     Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2025.  A graveside service, with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating, will follow the visitation in Floral Hills Memory Gardens at approximately 3:30 p.m.
