Marcella M. Garrett

     Marcella M. Garrett, 92, of Chillicothe, died 11:15 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Heartland of Chillicothe following a brief illness.

     She was born October 20, 1929, in Chillicothe, to the late William and Marie (Evans) Smith.  On July 5, 1952, she married Wade V. Garrett who died November 8, 2003.

     Surviving are children, Vicki (Dennis Jackson) Routte, of Chillicothe, Michael (Brenda) Garrett, of Waverly and Keith (Terri) Garrett, of Stoutsville;

grandchildren, Nichole (Clint Johnson) Routte, Cody Routte, Dustin Routte, all of Chillicothe, Megan (Trent) Horn, of Pleasantville, OH, Morgan Garrett, of Lancaster, OH, and Mallory (Alec Davis) Garrett, of Stoutsville, OH; great grandchildren, Chelsea (James Miller) Johnson, Kali Routte, Brooklynn Routte, Braxton Routte, Oliver Horn, and Ella Horn; and her fury friend, Sam.  She was predeceased by sisters, Lillian Barnhart and Mary Smith; brothers, William Smith and Robert Smith; and 3 infant brothers. 

     Marcella was a member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.  She enjoyed her church, country music and watching Ohio State Basketball.  Her family will miss holiday homemade noodles, Friday night pizza, and the big bag of Hershey Kisses which she kept stocked in the freezer. 

     Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Preaching Minister Terry Holbert officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
