Marilyn Sparks Rowland, 76, of Chillicothe, died 3:14 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born December 12, 1944, in Chillicothe, to the late Ivan O. and Nannie E. Campbell Sparks. On October 20, 1963, she married Robert A. Rowland who died July 4, 2011.
Surviving are children, Paula (Jeff) Ray, of Circleville, Rodney D. “Skeeter” (Carla) Rowland, Darrell (Stephanie) Rowland, and Marilyn K. Rowland, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Robert Rowland, Alisha (Joey) Cooper, Richard (fiancee, Jesmin Beverly) Rowland, Danyelle (Toryonno) Lynch, Rodney “Scooter” Rowland, Collin Ray, Kelsea Coleman, Shelby Coleman, Corbin Coleman and Rayanne Rowland; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Flora Mae Brown, of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Brenda (Joe) Brown McDaniel; and many friends including a special friend, Marsha Booth. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert Rowland; a brother, Junior, April and Marvin Sparks; and a sister, Osie Strausbaugh.
Marilyn was studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with sharing from her family and friends. A private burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
