Marilyn "Jody" Kimbler Obituary

     Marilyn “Jody” Kimbler, 73, of Chillicothe, died 10:56 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

      She was born November 2, 1947, in Ross County, to the late Luther F. Jr. and Betty Johnston Sommers. 

     Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ray Arfonzo Kimbler, of Chillicothe; daughters, Michele L. Schoonover and Erica Rae Kimbler, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Richard L. Schoonover III, Christopher R. Schoonover, Timothy R. Martin, Eric N. Martin, all of Chillicothe; and great grandsons, Matthew, Chase and Brantlee Schoonover, all of Chillicothe; brothers, Bobby “Oakley”, Greg and Shawn Bivens; sisters, Beth “Hamlin” Bivens and Jenny “Shope” Bivens; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her mother, Betty Bivens; father, Luther Sommers; brothers, Luther F. Sommers III and Michael K. Sommers; and a sister, Cynthia K. Curtis. 

     Marilyn was a member of Ross County Genealogy and her ancestors were one of the first settlers of Ross County.

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Elder Pat Phillips officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may view at the WARE FUNERAL HOME  from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Friday.
