Mark A. McWhorter, 63, of Chillicothe, passed 1:53 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, following an extended illness.
He was born November 21, 1958, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Samuel Silus and Ettie Hazel Hughes McWhorter. On June 26, 1999, he married the former Cheryl Ash who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Joshua (Michelle) McWhorter, of Richmond Dale; daughters, Cala McWhorter and Cameron McWhorter, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Bryce McWhorter, Carson McWhorter and Damon Detillion; a brother, Samuel “Zeke” (Debbie) McWhorter, of Chillicothe; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins; and his faithful companions, his dogs, Axle and Bane, and many cats. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda McWhorter and a nephew, Michael A. McWhorter, Jr.
Mark was a Printing Press Operator for Craftsman Printing for many years and also had worked for Westcamp Press in Westerville. He enjoyed working on and tinkering with cars over the years and had owned numerous classic hot rods that he enjoyed showing at car shows.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Londonderry Cemetery with Pastor Dean Hughes officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
