Mark C. Hathaway, 69, of Frankfort, passed at 11:03 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.
He was born January 25, 1955, in Fayette County, to the late John G. and Ethel Ann “Skip” Van Meter Hathaway. On July 14, 1990, he married the former Sherri Downs who survives.
Also surviving are children, C.J. (Tracy) Hathaway, of Chillicothe, Jill (Jimmy) Hathaway, of Springboro, Matt (Tiffany) Riffle, of Frankfort and Chris (Jenna) Riffle, of Frankfort; grandchildren, Nick, Drew, Cole, Katie, Dylan, Blake, Andrew, Chloe, Kyler and Cruz; great grandchildren, Hayden, Adrian and Nora; a sister, Sara (Art) Willis, of Los Gatos, CA; father-in-law, Roger (Sue) Downs, of Chillicothe; mother-in-law, Rose Butcher, of Circleville; sisters-in-law, Cathy Hathaway, of Chillicothe Cindy (Rusty) Elliott, of Cynthiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, his dog, Rusty. He was predeceased by his dad, John G. Hathaway; mom, Ethel Ann “Skip” Hathaway Givens; brothers, Edward Hathaway and Michael Hathaway; and step father-in-law, Richard “Butch” Butcher.
Mark was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Kenworth Truck Company where he had worked for 15 years. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for all of the wonderful care and support they have given to Mark over the years.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 Saturday, November 30, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Ohio. Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
