Marlan L. Long, 80, of Chillicothe, died 7 :22 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at his son’s residence following a brief illness.
He was born August 29, 1940, in Nipgen, OH, to the late William and Hester Burke Long. On September 26, 1964, he married the former Karen K. Carnes.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mindy K. and Bobby L. Johnson, of Chillicothe; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Lacey S. Long, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Dallas Johnson, Austin Long, Evan Long, Corbin Long and Tenleigh Long; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and John Meeker; a nephew, Tom (Leighann) Meeker, of Chillicothe; and a great niece, Baleigh (Jeremee) Cantrell, of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by a sister, June Haubeil.
Marlan served in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from Chilpaco in 2002. Marlan was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 988 and was a member and treasurer for the Igniters Street Rods Club.
A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
