Marlene J. McCloy, 84, of Washington Court House, was called home to meet her God and Savior at 1:50 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born April 18, 1938, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Lawrence Robert and Neva Preston Stratton. On Sunday, May 29, 1955, she married Walter Franklin McCloy who passed August 23, 2001. From this marriage they gave birth to a daughter and 2 sons, Rhona Jean Fowler, of Chillicothe, Keith Allan (Kimberly) McCloy, of Chillicothe and Gregory Scott (Christine) McCloy, of Columbus. On Thursday, December 6, 2006, Marlene’s great good fortune sprang up again and she met this marvelous man named, Ray Leslie. Ray agreed to be her companion and loving caregiver.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Carly Jeanne McCloy and Connor Allan McCloy; a sister, Bernadine Allen, of Washington CH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Murle Stratton; a sister, Pauline Hamrick; a son-in-law, David Fowler.
Marlene had attended the Hallsville United Methodist Church.
The family would like to extend a “thank you” to the staff of Promedica Hospice for the wonderful care given to Marlene and compassion shown to our family during this time.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Greg Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
