Martha J. Tallmon

     Martha J. Tallmon, 91, of Chillicothe, passed 9:23 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at her residence following a brief illness.

     She was born February 29, 1932, in Clarksburg, WV, to the late June Jarvis Painter and Mary Elizabeth Claypool Painter.  On March 3, 1950, she married Robert L. Tallmon who passed May 25, 2018.

     Surviving are a daughter, Lynda (Robert) Lemieux, of Dayton, OH; a son, Robert W. Tallmon, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Shane Tallmon, Keryn (Jason) Shaffner, Lyra (Ryan) Buckley and Alyssa Lemieux; great grandsons, Eliot Shaffner and Hudson Buckley; nephews and a sister-in-law, Sandra Painter, of Chillicothe.  She was predeceased by a brother, William B. Painter and a nephew.  

     Martha was the owner and operator of the former Valley Grocery.  She attended Christian Life Tabernacle. 

      A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Rowland Cemetery, Chillicothe, OH, with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
