Martha L. Turner

     Martha L. Turner, 91, of Chillicothe, passed Thursday, April 28, 2022 at her residence.  She was born November 28, 1930 in Ross County.

     Surviving are her daughter, caregiver and best friend, Cathy Matthews and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Frank E. and Minnie (Throckmorton) Turner; a sister, Gleneva Bush; a sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and Wilbur Rickey; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank Elmon “Sonny” and Geraldine Turner; a sister, Mary Turner; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Georgia Turner; a son-in-law, Paul Matthews; and a very special person, Billy Travis McCatherine whom she loved like a grandson. 

     Martha was a 1949 graduate of Chillicothe High School.  She was formerly employed at the Shoe Factory and was a carhop at the White Cow Drive-In Restaurant on N. High Street.  Martha retired from the G.E. Circleville Lamp Plant after 33 years.  She enjoyed going to Bluegrass Festivals, playing golf and scrabble and watching sports on TV. 

     Special thanks go to the entire hospice group who helped care for her and especially to Donna Meadows for her love, friendship and caregiving.

     At her request, she will be cremated with no calling hours or memorial service.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
