Marvin E. Parker Obituary

     Marvin E. Parker, 77, of Chillicothe, passed 9:46 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

     He was born January 5, 1946, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Virgil and Ethel Gilmore Parker.  On June 30, 1978, he married the former Nancy Starcher who survives.

     In addition to his wife, surviving are children, Kimberly (Stan Minney) Ratcliff, of Wellston, Tamara (Heath Morton) Parker, of Chillicothe, Melissa (Robert) Strong, of Jackson, Anthony Parker, of Waverly, Annette Parker, of Columbus; grandchildren, Tiffany (Daniel Peoples) Avery, of Wellston, Shawn (Trisha) Avery, of McArthur, Taylor Avery, of Jackson, Trista (Justin Langolf) Parker, Alek Adkins, Donavon Parker, Carly Adkins, all of Chillicothe, Jalen Parker, Noah Parker, both of Dayton, Albrey Collins, of Columbus and Kenzie Parker, of Waverly; great grandchildren, Journeigh, Rozalynn, Elliot, Blayke, Laykin and Gray; a sister, Peggy (George) Speakman, of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers, Jim Gilmore and Stanley Parker.    

     Marvin was a graduate of Unioto High School.  He retired in 2002 from Buckeye Steel where he had worked as a welder. Marvin was a longtime antique collector and antique dealer.  Above all, he loved to spend time with his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

     Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kevin Starcher officiating.  Burial will follow in Rowland Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
