Mary Monroe

     Mary Janet Monroe, 91, of Chillicothe, passed at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024 in National Church Residences, Chillicothe, following an extended illness.

     She was born February 2, 1933, in Pike County, to the late O.T. and Rose A. Louderback Beavers.  On March 8, 1947, she married Gerald W. Monroe who passed October 20, 1997. 

     Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judith K. and Harry Knowles, of Palm Harbor, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Robie L. (Barbara) Monroe, of Lewiston, WA, Gerald W. Monroe, of Palm Harbor, FL and Timothy M. and Lisa Monroe, of Lancaster, OH; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters; Naomi Cydrus, Thelma Johnson, Rickie Grooms, Vickey Raines and Brenda Williams; a brother, Ferman Beavers; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Paige Dawson and brothers, Robie, William and Paul Beavers.

     Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Aaron Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
