Mary Evelyn Stewart Obituary

     Mary Evelyn Stewart, 94, of Chillicothe, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at her daughter’s residence following a brief illness.

     She was born December 30, 1926, in Sabina, Ohio, to the late Londis and Lucy (Null) Smith.  On March 22, 1947, she married Marvin John Stewart who died February 1, 1999.   

     Surviving are children David Stewart, of Circleville, Kathy (Ron) Julian, of Fairborn, OH, Paul (Debbie) Stewart, of Chillicothe, Charles (Cheryl) Stewart, of Lancaster, Dana (Barbara) Stewart, of Baltimore, and Mary Bennett, of Chillicothe; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

     Mary retired from Ross County Correctional.  She was a volunteer for Ross County Head Start and loved helping children in need.  Mary enjoyed doing research online until she was legally blind and was unable to do so.   

     A private funeral service will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bruce Viar officiating.  A private burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. 

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Hospital.  Your contribution can be mailed to 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or you can contribute thru their website, www.stjude.org/donate.
