Mary Lisa Ison Anderson

     Mary Lisa Ison Anderson, 67, of Chillicothe, died peacefully following a brief illness at 5:28 a.m. Sept. 27, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center. 

     Mary was born on May 15, 1957, in Chillicothe, and was lovingly raised by her mother Anna Darlene (Krider) Wood and father Arthur Jean Wood. Mary graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1976, and married the love of her life, Mark Anderson, the following year on March 12, 1977. The couple had two sons, Jesse Anderson and Jeremy Anderson, who survive. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Patricia Anderson,  her stepson Mark Detty, two brothers, John Ison and Rick Ison, an infant sister Ava Wood, niece Amanda Ison, and her best friend Linda Scott. 

     Mary was a sweet, caring mother. She was also spunky, unafraid to be herself and speak her mind. Mary loved playing cards, especially Shanghai rum, and spending time at the Circleville VFW where she once worked and was a member. In her later years, Mary worked as a home health aide until her retirement in 2016. 

     In addition to her sons, Mary also is survived by her brother Joseph (Linda) Ison, of Kingston; sister Amy (Eddie) Wolfe; sisters-in-law Cora Ison, of Kingston, and Luella Ison, of Chillicothe; brother-in-law Mike (Cindy) Anderson, of Laurelville; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats Bella and Buster.

     Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, October 4, 2024 in the Ware Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Culp officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Circleville, Ohio.  Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.
