Matthew K. Wilson, 31, of Chillicothe, passed peacefully while surrounded by his family and close friends at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Ohio State University’s James Hospital following a short, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born December 21, 1990, in Crescent City, CA, to Barbara Jones Wilson and Craig C. Wilson.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara Jones Wilson, with whom he lived; father Craig C. (Michelle) Wilson, of Redding, CA; a sister, Suzanne M. Wilson, of Seattle, WA; paternal grandmother, Patricia M. Wilson, of Crescent City, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Christopher C. Wilson; maternal grandparents, Jacoba de Boer and Barney Jones; and paternal grandfather, George Wilson.
Matt was a 2009 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He was an avid gamer who had friends across the world. Matt was passionate about helping people thru mental health issues and had dreams of becoming a professional mental health counselor. He was very witty and had the ability to find humor in all situations. Matt enjoyed celebrating his family and friends’ birthdays and would go out of his way to make them feel special on their special day. Matt loved his family and friends unconditionally and he will be missed by them dearly. Until we play again, love you bye, bye love you.
In keeping with his wishes, a party celebrating his life will be held at a later date for close family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
