Melba L. Rickey

     Melba Rickey, 78, of Chillicothe, passed at 2:20 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Signature Health Care of Chillicothe following a brief illness.

     She was born February 27, 1946, in Ross County, to the late Claude and Agnes Sheets Ison.

     Surviving are a son, Jeffery (Vickie) Rickey, of Chillicothe; a daughter, Cheryl (Tracey) Watson, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Joshua (Roslyn) Varnado, Kathryn (Jamason) Lawrence and Megan (fiancé, Jacob Blanchard) Watson; great grandchildren, Leah and Audrey Varnado with Baby Lawrence on the way; a sister, Robin Rhoades, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brothers, Steven and Richard Ison and a brother-in-law, Thomas Rhoades. 

     Melba retired from the former DairyMart where she had worked for many years. 

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tony Lambert officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
