Michael Lee Parker

      Michael Lee Parker, 76, of Chillicothe, passed at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his residence following a brief illness.

     He was born July 27, 1948, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Charles Earl and Louise Belle Rinehart Parker.  On April 18, 1970, he married the former Judy Anne Doles who survives.

     In addition to his wife surviving are a daughter, Shannon Lee (David) Caplinger, of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Kevin Michael (Brittany) Parker, of Chillicothe;  grandchildren, Alexandria (Jordan Frase) Caplinger, Cody Caplinger, Grace Caplinger, Samuel Parker, Nicholas Parker, Sienna Evans and Sadie Butler; a great grandchild on the way; brother, Larry (Debbie) Parker, Rick (Denise) Parker, Jim (Jodi) Parker and Jeff Parker; an aunt, Bonnie Hoberty; and several nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind two special dogs, Brody and Scruffy.

     Michael retired from the former Goodyear Atomic Plant in Piketon where he had worked as a Stationary Engineer Boiler Operator.  In retirement, Mike enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.  Mike was known for his stubborn streak but was more importantly known for his soft heart and willingness to help anyone who needed it.  He knew a little bit about just about everything.  He loved to tell stories and those around him quickly learned that they may need to be fact checked!  Mike’s second home was his garage where he loved to prop his feet, smoke a cigar and crack open a cold one.

     In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME. 

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church, 6043 Mt. Tabor Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
