Michael A. Butterbaugh

     Michael A. Butterbaugh, 61, of Chillicothe passed 10:13 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.

     He was born August 26, 1963 in Chillicothe to William H. “Tuck” and Mildred M. McWhorter Butterbaugh.  On June 21, 1990 he married Christal L. Sprouse who survives.

      Surviving are his mother, Mildred M. Butterbaugh, of Ray, OH; children, Michael C. (Melissa J.) Butterbaugh, Shelby L. Butterbaugh and Brittney M. (Charles) Goodwin; grandchildren, McKenzie, Michael Jr., and Maverick Butterbaugh, whom was raised by their grandparents, Charlee and Samuel Goodwin and Christina McGuin; sisters, Diane (Ike) Park, Debbie (Keith) Congrove, Patty West, Cathy (Steve) Brokaw and Kelli (Keith) Sickles; brothers-in-law, Rob (Jackie) Sprouse and Orin (Becky) Sprouse.  He was predeceased by father, William H. “Tuck” Butterbaugh; brother, William R. Butterbaugh; sister-in-law, Vicky Ramsey; a brother-in-law and best friend, Timmy Sprouse; and a brother-in-law, Donald Sprouse.

     Michael was a hardworking and loving family man, who will be deeply missed.  He retired from Decker Construction in Columbus and was a member of the Labor Union 423.

     Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Sandy Chapel Church with ministers, Boe Tackett and Charles Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
