Nancy L. Riley, 94, of Chillicothe, passed at 8:34 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at her residence unexpectedly.
She was born February 16, 1931, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Millard and Elizabeth Moody Downs. On February 22, 1947, she married Jack E. Riley who passed November 18, 1992.
Surviving are her children, Jackie Jo Wallace, Craig Steven Riley, both of Chillicothe and Missy (Charles) Landrum, of New Orleans; many grandchildren and great grandchildren including, Jason, Carrie, Stefanie, Danielle, Mandy, Brandy, Stacy, Ricky, Silvia “Gracie”, Noah, Brian, Kevin, Sebastian, Corey, Gregory, Michaela, Cody, Collins, Josh and Peyton; a brother, Tom (Louise) Downs, of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Roger (Sue) Downs, of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Riley; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Townsend. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Dennis and brothers and sisters, Eva (John) Adrian, Bee (Clark) Graves, Florence (Herb) McDaniels, Mary (Dave) Austin, Maggie (Raymond) Boystel, Carolyn (Orn) Wahlen, Jane (Paul) Miller, Jim (Helen) Downs, Wes Sr. (Margaret) Downs, and Opal Fabel.
Nancy had worked at the Fox Farm Inn, The Elks, Gold Key, and the Cozy Inn. She was the President and a founding member of the First Capital Doll Club. Nancy loved to sew and make dolls and doll dresses.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
