Nellie J Oyer

     Nellie J. Oyer, 96, of Chillicothe, passed at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

     She was born April 29, 1929, in Ross County, to the late Willie and Emma Seymour Snyder.  On September 6, 1947, she married Harry J. Oyer who passed May 2, 2017.

     Surviving are a daughter, Nila A. (Gregg) Milliken, of Wellston; a son, Ronald A. (Ruth) Snyder, of Circleville; grandchildren, Mindy (Kevin) Fox, Shawn Snyder, Matthew (Loren) Milliken and Dee (Keith) Copas; 8 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Linda) Snyder, of Kingston, Bob Snyder, of Waverly and Glen “Shorty” Snyder, of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Joann Cryder; brothers, George, Bill, Clarence “Whitey,” Herman and David Snyder; 2 great grandsons.   

     Nellie was a member of the First Church of God.  She had formerly worked at the Mead Corporation, formerly worked for several department stores, and eventually retired from the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.  She was a former member of O.E.S. Chapter 419, and a member of  the First Church of God.

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kim Graves officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Ware Funeral Home from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
