Pastor Robert L. Jones, 86, of Chillicothe, went to be with his Lord at 11:15 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born December 3, 1934 in New Boston to the late Arthur and Golda Estep Jones. On September 28, 1955 he married the former Sara E. Turner, who survives.

Also surviving are children, Cheryl (Jeff) Mansell, of Hilliard, Bobby (Michelle) Jones, of Chillicothe, Tim (Vonda) Jones, of Peebles, Susan E. Jones, of Hilliard and Angela (Shawn) Francis, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Katie (Tom) Wheeler, Kristie Mansell, Curtis (Christin) Jones, Kristen Sawin, Justin (Kelsey) Sawin, Brennan (Brooke) Goldsberry, and Alyssa (Dylan) Green; great-grandchildren, Jamis Sawin, Thea Goldsberry and Greta Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Betty Hall and Doris Hilliard.

Robert was a retired ordained minister with the Churches of Christ In Christian Union. He was a member of the Cedar Street C.C.C.U. of New Boston and served as a missionary for 16 years in Papua New Guinea.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the High Street C.C.C.U. Church in Chillicothe, Ohio with Rev. Tom Hermiz and Rev. Gary Heimbach officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME in Chillicothe, Ohio from 2 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.    The family would prefer that those planning to attend wear a mask.
