Pat Manion
Pat Manion left this world on January 5, 2025 after 85 years of joyful living.
Born on October 22, 1939, he was the youngest child of Mike and Bessie Manion. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his sisters, Joan (Jo) Michael and Virginia (Jenny) Black, his brother, Jimmy and his daughter, Patricia Evans.
Pat graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1957 and went on to join the Navy, where he became a radioman and being aboard the USS DuPont, was part of Operation “Inland Seas,” a vast naval exercise celebrating the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. He went on to be employed by the Mead Paper Company, becoming an electrician and ending his career as a supervisor. He retired after decades of service.
Pat met Carolyn Carl through a family connection. She says she fell in love with him at first sight. They married July 6, 1963. They never stopped holding hands throughout their 61-year marriage.
Pat had many hobbies throughout his life. These included bowling, golfing, scuba diving, boating and water skiing. He enjoyed traveling, and with Carolyn by his side was able to see a good portion of this country and a few other countries as well.
Beyond anything Pat relished his role as husband and father. He often said he just wanted to spend time with “His Girls.” Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Manion, daughter, Robin Jones, daughter, Lea (Greg) Cutright, grandson, Brandon Jones and great grandson, Scott Jones.
He will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 12 – 2 p.m. prior to the service.
