Patricia Ann Barada

     Patricia Ann (Beam) Barada passed away on November 27 at her home in Chillicothe, Ohio.  She was 93.  Pat was born in Lawton, Michigan to deceased Sidney and Mildred Beam.

     Pat grew up in Lawton, Michigan. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1947. After high school she attended the University of Michigan where she received a degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy. During her time in Ann Arbor, MI, she met the man of her life, Bob Barada.  They were married in a double ring ceremony with her sister in 1951.

     Pat worked as a speech and hearing therapist for over thirty years before retirement.  Her career plans were constantly challenged with the many job transfers required with her husband’s employment.  After Ann Arbor, MI, they settled in Dallas, TX; Tyler, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Cincinnati, OH; and then Chillicothe.

     Pat’s professional experiences included working as a private speech therapist in Tyler, TX, Veteran’s Medical Centers in Dallas, and Chillicothe, and public schools in Detroit and Chillicothe.  She enjoyed administering treatment to folks in need, particularly children and stroke patients.

     Pat was very active in the community.  She was a founding member of PEO Chapter EH, she was also active in the following organizations: Daughters of the American Revolution, AAUW, Delta Kappa Gamma, Gardening club, and other service organizations during her life in Chillicothe.  Pat and Bob were long-time members of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

     Pat is survived by her sons Tim (Marie), of Chillicothe, David (Diana Kay) of Ashland, KY; grandchildren Jeremy, Eric (Kelsea), Jennifer, Jill (Mike Hoskings), and Staci (Adam Elmer); great-grandchildren Kailyn, Kiley, Caroline, Madison, Adley, and Logan.  Pat was predeceased in death by her husband Robert and her sister, Bonnie.

     A Memorial service for Pat and Bob will be scheduled in the near future. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

          A Celebration of Life will be held for Robert Joseph and Patricia Ann Barada at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 24 S. Mulberry St., Chillicothe, OH 45601 with Pastor Wes Souders officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
