Paul David Tackett

     Paul David Tackett, 61, of Chillicothe, passed at 11:38 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at his residence unexpectedly.

     He was born June 18, 1961, in Mt. Gay, WV, to the late Grover and Norma Duty Tackett. 

     Surviving are a brother, John (Omie) Tackett, of Ashland, OH; sisters, Velva Stepp, of Gallipolis, Ruth Hughes, of Logan, WV, Martha (Joe) Bedrin, of St. Petersburg, FL, Naomi Miller, of Barboursville, WV and Gloria Free, of New Port Richey, FL; former wife, Lynn Miner, of Chillicothe; numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, his support dog, Mellow.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Dallas Tackett and Glen Tackett; sisters, Elizabeth Pinkerton and Mary Hughes; and former support dog, Harley. 

     Paul was a United States Army veteran having served from 1980 to 1983 and later from 1989 to 1993.  He was a member of the American Legion, was an avid Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Football fan and was a Big for the Day Volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery’s Soldiers Square.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.  As a way to honor him, his family requests that you wear Bengals, Reds or Ohio State sportswear.  His funeral service will be livestreamed thru the funeral home’s website.  The link can be found at the bottom of his obituary page.
