Peter S. Kidnocker, age 59, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at his residence unexpectedly.
Pete was born on June 17, 1965, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the beloved son of Robert E. and Nancy J. Liberty Kidnocker. He grew up in Chillicothe and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1983, where he stood out as a talented athlete in both football and tennis.
A lifelong lover of Jesus Christ, Elvis Presley, and The Ohio State Buckeyes, Pete’s passions reflected both his fun-loving spirit and his steadfast heart. But above all, he cherished his late wife and childhood sweetheart, Lora E. Corcoran Kidnocker. Together, they shared 31 years of marriage built on love, faith, and deep companionship, a bond that remained the cornerstone of his life.
Surviving are his father, Robert E. Kidnocker, of Chillicothe; children, Peter Shane “Pete” (Taylor) Kidnocker, II, of Washington Court House, Jason (Amy) Kidnocker, of Chillicothe and Krystal (Craig) Barber, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Peter, III, Ashtyn, Jakob, Hope, Peyton, Adrianna, Kinsley, Jaxson, Emery and Abram; his sister, Karie L. (William) Barber, of Chillicothe; his brother, Robert E. Kidnocker, III, of Chillicothe; aunts Helena (Kay) Brockmeyer and Janice Sigler Carpenter, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lora E. Kidnocker; his mother, Nancy J. Kidnocker; and sister, Linda Lucas.
Pete was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was blessed with many gifts, among them a sharp wit, natural charm, and a heart devoted to serving others. Pete never met a stranger; his warmth and compassion made people feel seen and valued. A gifted counselor, he had a special ability to connect with people from all walks of life, offering wisdom, empathy, and hope. He was equal parts comedian and intellect—able to fill a room with laughter just as easily as he could bring calm and insight to a challenging moment.
Above all, Pete was a faithful disciple of Christ. Whether in a church, a conversation, or a quiet moment, he lived out his faith boldly and humbly, always pointing others toward the kingdom of God.
