Ray D. Graves

Ray D. Graves, 87, of Chillicothe, passed 9:21 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 in ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. 

     He was born July 13, 1935, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Lloyd and Norma Peters Graves.  On May 10, 1957, he married the former Geraldine George who died April 6, 2021.

     Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Graves, of Chillicothe, OH; grandchildren, Rodney Graves and Stacy Hughes; great grandchildren, David Graves, Kaitlynn Graves, Cierra Polen, September Colon, Nicholas Hughes, Ayla Beekman and Leah Beekman; great great grandchildren, Gracelynn Sheets, Amelia Graves, Mason Graves and Alyssa Matthews; a sister, Jean Jeffries, of Chillicothe; and numerous niece and nephews including a special niece, Bethann Sigler.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, David and Rose Peters; a grandson, Josh Beekman; a brother, William Graves; and sisters, Rosemary Justice, Judy Smith and Betty Estep. 

     Ray retired from Chipaco where he had worked for 50 years.  He enjoyed being in the great outdoors and especially loved to fish and ride horses. 

     A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
