Rena M. Hamilton, 79, of Chillicothe, died 5:34 a.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born July 30, 1941 in Red Jacket, West Virginia to the late Dewey and Thelma (Edwards) Chumley. She was the wife of the late Larry B. Hamilton.
Surviving are children, Misty Strausbaugh and Jack Hamilton, both of Chillicothe, and Kenneth (Erniellen) Chumley, of Pickerington; grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Wagoner, of Chillicothe and Summer Chumley, of Pickerington; a great granddaughter, Addison Wagoner; a sister, Karen Chumley, of Kingston; brothers, Jack (Beverly) Chumley, of Florida, Robert Chumley, of Chillicothe and Jack (Mabel) Edwards, of Gahanna and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Jason Hamilton; sisters, Francis Caudill, Judy Jude and Jane Holbrook; brothers, Phillip Chumley, Jimmy Chumley and Bobby Edwards.
Rena retired from the Mingo County, WV. Board of Education after 36 years of service and was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
