Reverend Willard McCray Obituary

Willard C. McCray, 90, of Ray passed 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at his home.

     He was born April 18, 1935 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Autry, Sr. and Ruby Turner McCray.

On July 5, 1955 he married June Gross who preceded him January 12, 2000.  November 4, 2000, he married Fern L. Tatman who survives.   

     Surviving are children, Authur R. McCray, Russell P. (Sheila) McCray, Tina Dearth, Kimberly (David) Conley, Willard McCray, Jr. and Alida (Jack) Vanover; step-daughter, Amanda (Frank) Alder; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Paul, Andrew, Tom, Terry and Sam McCray; sister, Sandra Withrow.  He was predeceased by son-in-law, Bob Dearth; brothers, Autry, Jr., Bill, Delano, Ben and Bob McCray; sisters, Eva Mae Parks, Anna Sue Lewis, Audry Johnson, Mary Ellen Williams and Julia King.

     Willard was a member and pastor of Trinity Lighthouse Holiness Church for 28 years.  He retired from Bud Wheel of Frankfort.  Willard was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved anything outdoors.

     Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Rev. Marlyn Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
