Richard T. Shoemaker

Richard T. Shoemaker, 84, of Chillicothe, passed at 9:40 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 in CareCore at Westmoreland following an extended illness.

     He was born June 23, 1940, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Richard R. and Gladys Detty Shoemaker.  On June 9, 1990, he married the former Bonnie L. Johnson who survives.

     Also surviving are a granddaughter, Kayli Ann Johnson; great grandchildren, Zaiden, Vanden and Azyline; brothers, Gene Shoemaker and Bill (Carol) Shoemaker; a special brother-in-law, Earl Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Richy Shoemaker and Robert Johnson. 

     Richard was a member of Jefferson Avenue CCCU and retired from the former Union Spring where he had worked for 36 years. 

     A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home to help the family.
